Historic District Study Committee approved

The Board of Selectmen approved a motion to establish a Local Historic District Study Committee at their meeting last Thursday evening, March 24. According the guidebook published by the Mass Historical Commission, this study committee, when appointed, “will conduct an investigation of the desirability of establishing a local historic district, develop a report to present its findings and recommendations, and conduct a public hearing on the proposal prior to its consideration by a town meeting.” The committee’s work is expected to focus on the town center.

Openings for this new committee will be advertised. More to report on this, I’m sure, as time goes on.
